Description:

Arguably the most famous nightlife establishment in Athens, the music scene of 40 Watt Club is highly popular with students of UGA. 40 Watt was one of the big institutions that helped launch punk rock and new wave music and it has seen bands from R.E.M. to Of Montreal get their starts partly due to its stage. The venue is just a few blocks north of the UGA campus and its shows are generally 18+, with some all ages performances thrown in.
